TO BE REAL

drowning in cowardice,
honesty's poison kiss
shatters ignorant bliss,
how it hurts to be real.

a fake image of me,
preserving harmony,
fighting sincerity,
'cause it kills to be real.

avoidable bloodshed,
butcher her simple head,
truths better left unsaid,
bleed her dry to be real?

brush painting abstract lies,
that colourful disguise,
is this artist so wise?
the beauty should be real.

hanging you on my wall,
you will cease to appall,
true beauty can't enthrall
my mind unless it's real.
