THE MANEFESTO

we are rogue intellectuals,
humble heroes, we fight the vain.
our charming revolution will
paint over this ignorant stain.

can we be safe from their disease?
plagued by the stars of print and screen.
the stars in their sky have faded.
meaning in life has ceased to mean.

poetry police, you're too slow
for guerrilla tactics this shrewd.
you'll misunderstand our attacks.
you can't conceive what we elude.

who knows what drives these mad beasts on,
to fight our unstoppable verse.
ruling our nation ruthlessly,
their fascist laws couldn't be worse.

they've stolen what we hold most dear,
the right to voice our emotions.
they've ripped the words out of our mouths,
calling them misguided notions.

they want to stifle our voices.
we won't allow them to suceed.
they will never control our thoughts,
these independent minds we feed.

come join our powerful movement
if you are more than simple sheep.
be an empowered citizen.
take the extraordinary leap.

take control of your stolen lives
and create meaning for yourselves.
remember what it means to love,
save your hearts from those dusty shelves.

we shall stand up as a people
and fight for what is right and true.
rebel against this government
you know they don't care about you.

they use us all as simple tools,
without feelings, a heart, or mind.
they rule us with their imposed fear.
we are fearless, they will soon find.
