ATLAS' SONG

your burden consumes you.
your bones will soon give out.
world upon your shoulders
it makes you want to shout.

bury it with a smile,
whistle as your bones break.
this world you should not share,
there's far too much at stake.

quietly hum the tune
of all your sad regrets.
don't you dare to whisper
those unpayable debts.

your foot finally slips
that world comes crashing down.
you know i told you so
and now you have to drown.

tragically content
you are buried alive.
singing in your coffin,
you've finally arrived.
